Kabra Holding Roads Project is part of the Wiggins Island Rail Project Segment 2, and is the staged development of new rail lines and upgrading of existing lines to service the new Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal at the Port of Gladstone to support improved capacity of current rail movements in and out if the terminal. The project is a vital link between the new terminal and mines in the southern Bowen and Surat Basins. Construction involved culvert replacement extensions, drainage works under existing rail during track closures, construction of two maintenance level crossings inclusive of crew change crossings. The construction and duplication of the railway and 900m of track lowering works, construction of Stanwell Intermediate Depot including hardstand area and other ancillary civil works.
