The Gold Coast’s Green Bridge project is a key element Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Masterplan. The project includes the design and construction of a 130-metre pedestrian and cycle link which will span the Nerang River and connect to Chevron Island, near the Thomas Drive retail and restaurant precinct.
The bridge will be built to allow a marine passage envelope to a height of 5.7-metres and width of 30.8-metres with a 5-metre wide shared path for pedestrians and cyclists.
The bridge will feature a J-curve landing over Evandale Lake with informal seating and space for pop-up food carts or performers.
Construction on the project is expected to reach practical completion in late 2019.
