APLNG Curtis Island and Mainland Roll on Roll off Facilities

    Curtis Island, Queensland

The Australia Pacific LNG project is one of the largest coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Australia. It involves developing CSG fields in the Surat and Bowen Basins in Queensland, construction of a 530km pipeline and a new LNG facility on Curtis Island, offshore from Gladstone.

It will deliver a cleaner-burning fuel, than some other energy sources, to customers in Australia and Asia.

Part of the required transport facilities for barge access from shore to the island is roll on roll off structures. The scope of works included 45 vertical piles and 17 raked fender piles. Fender units were pre-fabricated onshore prior to installation and installed to suit the location of the piles.
